Question:

1200w xplod amp wont turn on?

I installed an alpine head unit and a 1200w Xplod Amp with 2 1300w 12in subs in my car everything is hooked up correctly but the amp wont seem to turn on and the subs work but draw power from the car and don't push nearly as hard as they should anyone know what might be wrong?

  1. If the amp isn't on and the subs are running off the head unit, you don't have it hooked up correctly.  The subs should not have any power at all if the amp is off.

    HU -------- Amplifier is on ---------subs get powered through the amp

    HU -------- Off ----------subs get no power

    If the remote wire is connected, the rca cables are tight in both ends, the power and ground are tight to the amp, check the fuses (both in line and on the amp).  If the fuses are good and everything truly is hooked up right, then you've probably got a fried board in the amp, and it would need professional repair.


  2. check if the "remote wire" is connected to the stereo, on the amp power input normally you should have three; negative, positive and the remote. the - &+ supplies the power but the remote turns the amps power on and off. remote is normally a yellow wire. (dont take my word for it , check manual first)

  3. the best thing you could do is take it to a professional
