125% of the current poverty level ???

Question

Please explain this to me. According to US guidelines in 2007 poverty level for one person was $10,210.00 and for two people was $13,690.00 My Girl Friend is in the Philippines. What must i show for three years in wages to make this work? It's only me and her, no kids. Also, can I show my assests and collector cars as properties I own since i usually write off lots of money in my business by buying tools and equipment? Please help me out here? How much must I show for us two?

You can use assets as well but the assets you use must be worth 3X the amount you fall short in any given year so if you have income on paper of only $10000 and need to show $17500 ( 125% for 2 people) you will need to show assets of  3X the difference, eg.. 3 X 7500 so will need assets worth $22500. It's safer to show over this if you can.

$10,210.00----$12,762.50

$13,690.00----$17,112.50

$10,400.00----$13,000.00

$14,000.00----$17,500.00
