Another skirmish on the green table took place between the world number-23 Stuart Bingham and four-time winner Ronnie O’Sullivan. Bingham took the lead after twelve frames, when the score was 6-6, and sent Ronnie home after a shocking victory against world
number-8.
The most talked about encounter was that of old rivals, surely it was Jimmy White against the Seven-times world and five-times UK champion Stephen Hendry. Both mighty players have a brawly history which gathered a huge crowd at the match. Score for the match
was 9-8, which indeed shows that the match was not less than a battle being fought between the two old rivals on the lush green table field at Telford. Stephen Hendry made his way to the next round and will face Mark William.
In other matches, Ali Carter world number three couldn’t make his way to the second round and lost to Mark Joyce, who for the first time in his career has made it to the last sixteen round. Beating Ali Carter 9-6 is the biggest shock of the tournament so
far said, “Rob Hayes”.
Mark Williams made his way to the last sixteen round by knocking out Mark Davis by a score of 9-3 frames.
There are some matches that will resume in the second round, and a number of matches have to start yet. The second round will be over in a day, making the horizon vivid of the mist, deciding who plays who in the quarter finals of the championship.
