12V Powerwheels- Battery Conversion?

Does anyone forsee any problems if I mounted a deep cycle 12V marine battery to the rear of my childs 12V Powerwheels?. I was going to mount the case & battery in the dump part of the John Deere Ride on tractor, because the batteries that come with them only last for less than 1hr?. I figure when the marine battery dies, I can put it on a slow charge and it should last for days. Any thoughts?

  1. Make sure the tractor uses a 12v system.  Many of them use 24v.  Other than safely securing and protecting the 'lil one from the battery itself, I don't see any problems.  I think you might be a little overoptimistic on your battery capacity, though!

  2. hey i did the same thing to my sons about 16 years ago,it worked great, no more mad son because his jeep needed to be recharged
