12st Birthday Ideas?

My daughter is turning 21, I am looking for ideas on how to put together a party for her, any suggestions out there?Best day or night, is having a theme a good idea, if so any suggestions , food, entertainment, games, any ideas to make it a great day or night. There will be people of all ages attending.

As a 19yr old, here are my suggestions:

- evening is better, as it allows people with school/work obligations to attend

- simple themes work best...i recently went to a beach themed party that was lovely.  We all wore beach atire, drank fruit punch, ate summery foods and had fruit and sorbet.  Simple paper lanters, sea shells and paper palmtrees made the place look great.

- party games are always good - something inclusive that anyone can play.  Suggestions include poker, charades, pictonairy (ALWAYS a hit) or a great party game called Apples to Apples (soo much fun and great for all ages...definatley worth googling if you don't know what it is)

- if the party is outdoors, it might be nice to hire a band...it doesnt necessarily have to be big...most communities are home to small bands looking for thier big break at little to no cost!
