13 A New Musical Question(s)?

Alright, here are my questions.

1. Does anyone know the date that the actual musical opens on Broadway? If so, what theatre does it open at?

2. I know that the original broadway cast had already been formed, but would it still be okay to send in a headshot and resume now?

3. Do you have to be an equity member to be in the show?

4. What would be some good songs to sing if you auditioned for this musical, for either a boy or a girl.

  1. 1. Previews start Sept. 13, opens Oct. 5 at the Bernard B. Jacobs Theatre.

    2. Yes, replacements, understudies, swings, etc. may still be needed.

    3. If you were selected to be in the show, you would get your equity card from it.

    4. Anything from RENT, Spring Awakening, WIcked, Legally Blonde, anything of a the newer contemporary Broadway shows, with a bit of a 'belty' quality.

    Good luck!

  2. 1) I know they begin previews on September 16th. they performed a couple numbers yesterday at bryant park ... i believe it opens oct.5.

Its going to be at the Bernard B Jacobs Theatre

    2) hmn sure why not no harm in trying? maybe

    3) Most of the cast are making their broadway debut. However some i know have been in other broadway shows. so I'm not sure if it is required to be a equity member.

    4) listen to the music... Try to find something that deals with teenage frustration or how one feels at 13. i know personally if i was 13 again and auditioning i'd probably sing" live out Loud " from a Little princess

    Hope that helped.
