Um... I just turned 13 on August 3. I've been really busy during August and i don't know if i should even make a party, because September would be the only time i could make it. Anyways, Do you think it would be a good idea to do it in September even though my birthday was on August 3? How many weeks in advance should i send the invitations? Should we hire a DJ? What games would be good? What about food? How should i decorate my backyard to make it look like Hawaii? (i have a REALLY big backyard, so I'm willing to use that space, rather then inside) What food would be good with this theme? What about music(cool teen music to dance to) and fun stuff?

Please answer all these questions everyone! I want this party to be BIG (i want this party to be awesome), So any tips and suggestions would be great. I wanted to do my party at the beach, by unfortunately, I don't live beside the beach or ocean. Anyways, please answer all these questions and give extra suggestions and tips. If you have any stories about your 13 b-day party, that would be great, too!

Thanks!

xoxo

  1. you could have your party in september it wouldnt really matter. Example my friend was born in december and had a party in July. Send the Invites like 2 weeks in advance. DJ's are cool but it all depends on what the "theme" is of your party. Twister, spin the bottle, truth or dare, tell scary stories. Food is easy just have like 3 different kinds of pizza, chips, fruit, soda, ice cream, some other form of dessert. Put tiki torches up. have leais (the things flowers on a neklence),have some palm trees, chinese laterns (the big ones). bamboo caperts in places, cocunts in places. and like a small spa like relaxation place. The music do some sort of dance theme insdie by the DJ (if you have one) have him take request and tell him put good teen dance music on he'll know what you mean.

    Tip-Just Have Fun

  2. Ye sounds like a good idea.

You can throw it in September.

But if I were you I would start doing the invitations NOW.

  3. Ok here's something that I did on my birthday almost a year ago:

Music: Everything on the current top 40 chart

DJ: Only if you can afford it. (we did get one.)

Decorations: We put glass over the pool so you could dance on it and we made flower strung on string and lined that through the trees. Also we had a table set up for food and stuff and we had a cake on the table and a place for gifts. Then I had an idea to have a place to watch a movie so we rented one of those old time projectors and put up a sheet or something so we could watch an old Hawaiian movie. After that we had put up like fake palm trees and had a place to swim so everyone brought their swimsuits and towels so they could swim and jump off of the diving board or whatever. It was a sunny aned nice day and it turned out great. Especially the presents!

  4. for hawaii theme

pass everyone leis, thats a must.

when you have tables of food, cut out "grass skirts" and wrap them around the tables using green paper and a bunch of slits

virgin pina coladas are a must

food can be hawaiian pizza :)

for girls, they can have fake flowers to tuck behind their ear

games can include the limbo :) [to music]

some drinks, fruit punch, shirley temples

    mm i hope i helped!

  5. I don't think the party should be a birthday party; it's a month after your birthday!

You could just throw a Hawaiian themed party just for the fun of it, though. Have fun. (:
