ruby takes her naps like a champ (well, she has ever since 10 months, when we had really worked on sleep). off and on for the last week, she has really fought them. i know this is the age when she is transitioning from one to two naps, so i am very careful to not expect too much sleep from her. she goes in her crib happily, but then 5 minutes later starts protest crying. when i go to her, she wants out or to play. is it common, at this age, to begin protesting naps, or at least did your baby do this at this time?

  1. boy is it normal!  the real trouble started for me when they

didn't even want one nap.  of course they got cranky just

about the time their father came home so i came up with.

well, you know how grouchy mama gets if she doesn't get

some rest in the afternoon, so how about you just lie down

with your picture book (not the t v) for a little while and be

real quiet so mama can rest and then when daddy gets

home we will both be glad to see him.

  2. Yup, this is common.  I would start transitioning her to 1 nap in the afternoon.

    Good Luck!
