Hi, I am throwing a birthday party for my 13 year old lil sister. (I'm 21) It's her first birthday party and I want to make it memorable for her. We have decided that she is going to have a cook-out birthday party at a local park. Any ideas of what things we can do there to make it fun for her.

My ideas were:

music of course

twister

water balloon fights

  1. Bobbing 4 apples

Pin the tail on the donkey

    Dance Contest

    Freez Dance

    Tag

    Hide and Go seek

    A clown

    Magic Tricks

    Best Dressed Contest

    Acting Out Skits

IDK those were some of the things that popped into my head

  2. Relay races, you can do potato sack races, three legged races, wheelbarrel races, etc.

Get an inflatable kiddie pool and fill it with water.  Break into 2 teams and have a tug of war, the losing team ends up in the pool!

Pie eating contest, BUT instead of the pie, fill the tins with whipped cream and whoever finishes first wins!

You can also have them play volleyball, badmitten, and frisbee.

You can bring a cooler and set up an ice cream bar.  Get chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry ice cream and whatever is your sister's favorites, and some toppings. Sprinkles, chocolate syrup, whipped cream, and marachino cherries, have everyone make their own sundaes.  You can get the waffle cone bowls at the grocery store.

You can have them play charades, do a pinata, get the ones that you pull the string to open it.  In the aisle where the pinatas are you can usually find what's called pinata filler, they're big bags of candy to put in them and there's still room to add your own favorites if you like.

I hope some of these ideas help and that your sister has a great party and a very Happy Birthday!!

  3. I say alongside with the activites, throw in an awesome salad that the kids will DIE for....

    Big Mac Salad

    8 slices white bread

1 lb extra lean ground beef

    salt and pepper

    1 tsp. onion powder

1 small red onion, thinly sliced and separated into rings

    1 head iceberg lettuce, shredded

1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese

    1 tablespoon sesame seed

1/2 cup Miracle Whip salad dressing

    1/2 cup mayonnaise

    1/4 cup ketchup

    1/4 cup sweet pickle relish

    salt and pepper

Toast the bread lightly. Let cool, cut into cubes and set aside.

Brown the ground beef, seasoning with salt, pepper and the onion powder.  Let cool.

In a large bowl, combine the lettuce, ground beef, toasted bread, onions, and cheese; toss well. Place in a large salad bowl. Sprinkle with sesame seeds

Stir together the mayonnaise, ketchup, relish, salt and pepper.  Serve the dressing on the side..

    OR

    > Taco Salad

    1  lb. ground chuck

    1 envelope taco mix

    1 head lettuce, shredded

    1 lg. tomato, chopped

1 med. onion, sliced and separated into rings

2 cups shredded extra sharp cheddar cheese

    8 oz. sour cream

    1 jar of salsa

1 can of black olives, drained

1 bag (12 oz.) nacho cheese Doritos

Brown and drain hamburger, add the taco seasoning mix and follow the package directions.

The way we do it at my house, which is easier on the cook and more fun for everyone is to arrange everything in separate bowls and serve buffet style.  Everyone can "build" their own salad.

I start with the Doritos on the bottom (crushed or not), top with lettuce, onions and tomatoes, then the meat, cheese and then top it off with the sour cream, salsa and olives.

You can also toss together in a large salad bowl and serve immediately.

*some people like to serve Catalina Salad Dressing with their Taco Salad.

  4. -potato sack races

-get lifesavers and kabob sticks and have the kids get in teams. Both teams line up, the firstperson starts with the stick and the lifesaver and the next person in line has to try and remove the lifesaver from the other teamates stick and so on and so forth. The first team to finish wins.

-You can buy some soil, some clay pots, young plants and paints. Each person gets to decorate and plant theri own plant. This is a really artistic and fun thing for young adults.

-Since its a Hanna Montana party you can maybe make it a costume party and all the girls are to dress up for the party.

-Have a few moms who can put makeup on the girls. !3 year olds love Makeup

-You could pre bake some small cakes and have a decorating contest. Plus then they have something to take home. The parents will love you for this one!

    -Make Smores

-The tray game. Place 20 or so items on a tray relating to girls or Hanna Montana and the girls will have 15seconds to look at the tray. Make sure it's coverd up. They each recieve a piece of paper and have to remember as may items as possible on the tray. The person who remembers the most wins.

-Pick 5 or 6 food items, blind fold the girls and have them taste the items and guess what it is. This can be really fun if you make a few disgusting things.

    Hope this helps. Good Luck!!
