13 year old sister - problem?

Question

My sister is 13 years old. She is overweight and tries to hide it by wearing really baggy clothes - most of her clothes are a size 16 (UK). She is embarrassed of her body and wears the wrong size bra. Also she doesn't shower very often - like once a week at the most. She is really lazy and won't do anything for anyone else.

My mum has given up on her and doesn't know what to do anymore. Is there anything I can do to help her? We're all really worried about her.

It's Purberty , Although she might feel ugly and insecure with her weight which i disagree with because i believe no matter what are look on the outside is it can't compare to are inside.

Depression might be the promblem to are maybe shes getting bullied try to talk to her.. Infact Don't bring it up at all. Give her time. She'll come around :)

I live in the U.S. So I really don't know the size chart for the U.K. But... size doesn't matter it is what is inside... I mean size is important to stay in shape... but if you have a good personality you will over all out weigh the wieght and everyone will fall in love with the personality. She needs to shower though.

Take her to a therapist.

she probably started her period and her hormones are changing. Talk to her, give her one one girl talk. sister talk, try and tell her about things that are going on in your life and then she will probably open up to you about what is going.

Give her a boyfriend! I was joking. Try to talk to her, telling that you are worried and why you feel like that. Show her other girls.

She needs help because she is probably depressed. Your mom should take her to see a counselor.
