so this guy on the forums was starting to talk really weird and then I realized it was on his forum signature. I was just curious of what it said. I thought it was just random numbers and letters at first.

Anyways, he called it 1337 speak. And I looked it up and saw that it was the way this group of hackers used when talking on the internet. But i still couldn't figure it out.

So what does this mean please? I know it probably means something stupid but I still want to know. Thank you so much!

leet is the use of numbers or symbols to replace a letter, it comes from back in the 80's when an "elite" user had access to things like pirated software, etc. it was developed to circumvent text filters that the bbs's created to stop the discussion of things that they considered "forbidden"
