ok. Hi. I'm 14 and I'm in 8th grade. we are about to have our graduation or grad night in July, Approximately 1 month and 5 days. And my class is going to Six Flags Magic Mountain.

What can I do to remove MY FEAR OF HEIGHT. I WILL NOT ride GOLIATH but others like Tatsu, etc. But what should I do in a month to help get rid of heights and not act like a little wimp infront of my friends.

I'm really scared of heights and drops. What can I do? Like daily practices to help me get rid of the fear of heights but instead see the beauty of flying.

Going to Six Flags in 1 month.

  1. i thought i was a fraid of going down on my first roller coaster ride but it is going up that is scary what i do is close my eveys until were at the top then open them it is so much fun i could n ot stop going on roller coaster and i'm still afraid of heights but dont let that stop ypu from having fun and dont wch final destinaton3 that scared me so bad i could not go on for a month

  2. I was the same age as you when I finally got over my fear of heights (rollercoasters at least). And now I find the Superman at Six Flags the best ride ever!

Basically, my friends and I always went to Great Escape a lot and I'd be the party pooper because I wouldn't wait in line for rollercoasters. But I also have this fear of being alone so it was a lose-lose situation. Anyway, they would BEG me to go on and eventually I was sick of waiting for everyone else so I went on a so-so height rollercoaster (the Comet). I would link arms with my other friend and close my eyes and imagine something else :) After going on the same ride 4 times in a row, I kind of just got used to it! it's realllyyyy fun to go on high rides, trust me.

I think that just as long as you don't think about it once you get on the ride, you'll be fine. Scream if you have to, it really helps! You're already expecting the worse that's going to happen so once you're on it, it can't be as bad!

  3. You should close your eyes or try to enjoy the view!

  4. A good way to control the anxiety of waiting for a ride is to be distracted so that you can't dwell on it. Me and my 9 year old nephew had to wait for a shower to stop on one ride, and he cried and refused to go on the ride because of the long wait. It was several days before he finally went on a big ride (Duelling Dragons), even then he had to be cajoled onto it, but afterwards he liked it so much he immediately went back on it!

One way to distract yourself is to imagine each person you see in the queue for the ride sitting on the toilet with their trousers round their ankles.

  5. want u have to do is close ur eyes when your on the ride

  6. This is video game section but still. Just go on a ride and even tho your scared just go on it. I went on a roller coaster and i was scared but still went on it I'm 15 years old.

  7. What you have to do is go to a very high place. Climb a tree, go on a ride, whatever. This will help you get over it so you don't have to do it in front of your friends.

If you REALLY want to squash this once and for good, go to Six Flags and ride Goliath before the trip so your friends won't see you freaking out.

Funny, speed freaks me out. Good luck!

  8. the best thing you can do is just ride a roller coaster or something else that goes very high. that is pretty much the only way youll ever get over your fear

  9. what I would do, is I would try my fear... like go up on really tall slides, climb trees, and maybe even swing really high, or jump really high  on a trampoline... thats all I got.... hope it works!!!!

  10. Get in a group of friends who are really encouraging (i got over my fear, even with anxiety in the line, for Millennium Force). Chances are, if you go on a ride that you felt scared of, and you think This will be fun, rather than This will be scary, you will like it!
