14 month old refusing to go to bed?

I have a 14 month old daughter that up until a few days ago had absolutely no problems with going to bed. We have an established routine every nite. winding down with holding her on the couch, dinner, bath, more holding and possibly a story and then either myself or my husband lie her down in her crib. Generally either she would go right to sleep or whine for no more than 5-10 min before she was out like a light. But for the last 4 days she absolutely will not sleep in her bed. when we put her to bed she stands up and literally screams at the top of her lungs and cries. we let her cry for a while before one of us will go in and attempt to lie her back down and put her to sleep, but we are constantly having to do this until up to 4 or 5 am. This is so hard on us because we also have a one month old son who wakes up every four hrs to feed.(and i honestly do not think this is the reason she is waking up bc for the whole month he has been here she has had no problems with sleeping up until a few days ago) we are just at a complete loss of what to do. during the day she is so tired and wants to sleep and we try to keep her up all day so that she will sleep at night but i dont want to prevent her from napping either. Yesterday we kept her up all day except for a very short nap and she crashed at 8:30pm but alas woke up again around 11pm and was up all nite again. Anyone have any advice or suggestions? I am completely at my wits end as nothing is seeming to work.

  1. maybe she's ready for big girl bed. buy her a toddler bed and her favorite character sheets. Toddlers love to sleep in the brand new beds, new bedding and have bed that they can easily get in or out

    I hope that helps!!!
