  1. Isn't this like your third time posting this question? I know I answered one version... I've e-mailed you back and forth several times...

And I've seen another post by you without my answer, so I'm assuming it's a different one also...

As I told you, and you can google it, there are no training programs out there that are made for 14 months... 20 weeks or 16 weeks is standard....

Before that time comes, you're in pre-training where beginner's are supposed to try to make their way up to running for 30 minutes without stopping... eventually to a good pace for 30 minutes without stopping... then to a good pace for a longer duration of time.

  2. Yes you have plenty of time.

There are a number of programs around which will help you. Try a running forum, there is usually a marathon section, and that should give you some clues to where to find a program.

Also try the runnersworld site. Lydiard & Ptizenger have decent programs.

It is a slow process, consistancy in training is the key, and I would think you should be building up to at least 50 miles/week and have one 20 mile run in before you attempt to run the marathon.

Aim to just finish unless you get in good condition where you can run it rather than jogging it. Have some practice races say over 1/2 marathon after 6-8 months training. You can try some shorter 5 & 10 km runs before that.

Eat good food, plenty of rest, and most important good running shoes. Also if you can train on trails or grass, this will be good for your body.

    Good luck

  3. I'll give you a tip to help you run before you complete a marathon or half what ever one your planing on running.

I few days before the marathon you should cut down on eating fiber as it gives you some type of problem I think it's called runner dihear not direar lol. But a few days before the marathon you should load up on cyberhidrates and I mean lots of it. On the day of your marathon you should get up a few hours before it starts. I sugeast you eat somthing high in GI eg: egg on whole meal bread and have 500ml of water. During the race you should have high GI foods so every 1km or so eat 1 jelly baby to keep your suger levels up. Remember if it's your first marathon it isn't about winning it. It's about passing the finish line.

are you planing on going to the Gold Coast marathon or the Ipswich one by any chance? if so I hope to see you there and I wish you the best of luck.
