  1. That is just right. My Dr. suggested not quitting, but cutting back. Quitting could cause stress and harm the baby. All 3 pregnancies I cut back, and the result, 3 big and healthy. So my babies benefited from my Dr's. suggestion.

If anyone ended up with medical problems still, it was caused by bad genes. They just don't want to admit they have something wrong with them. It's easier to cast blame on someone else.

  2. babies heart rates are always on the high side while pregnant. Did the doctor mention anything about it?

You should be feeling the baby move anytime now, pay attention closely while you lie still and you may feel "butterflies" in your belly.

It just depends on you when you"ll start to show, don't rush it!! hehe

    Good luck quitting smoking!

  3. I won't go into smoking during pregnancy. I don't judge ... but on the baby's heartrate I can answer that one...

That is normal range. Both of my son's heartrate were between 145 and 168 my whole pregnancy. It gets slower as they get bigger but normally not below 130 or around there ..

sorry if I am not much more help! Just rest assured, your baby is A OK, if there is a strong heartbeat at all! :)

  4. Yesterday at my doctor's appointment (16w5d), my baby's heartbeat was 158 and I stopped smoking over 12 years ago. Yours sounds about right. I have started to show, but this is my 3rd child. I have been feeling the baby since about 14 weeks. Good luck!

  5. Although you are 14 weeks, smoking can still cause a miscarriage, low birth weight and lack of oxygen to your unborn child. I don't even allow myself to be around others who smoke. If you care about your child and it's health you need to stop now. It doesn't matter if it's one a day or 10. You are doing your baby a horrible injustice.

  6. I'm not exactly sure what the heart rate of the baby should be around 14 weeks pregnant, but I would advise you to stop the smoking completely.  I am not here to judge you are give you a hard time at all, but just to reiterate of what I'm sure you already know that it is not good for a little baby to intake such harmful smoke.  I know there have been cases where a mom has smoked like a chimney and the baby still come out fine, but don't take the chance.  It's not worth it...besides sacrificing this habit now will prepare you for a the life ahead of you that will be full of sacrifices...sacrifices such as sleep, being able to pick up and go as you please, etc.  Luckily this 9 month sacrifice though can help ensure a healthier lifetime for your little one.  I know it is hard to kick the habit, but it can and has been done.

    Good luck!

  7. yes it is normal the babys heartbeat goes from 120-160 bpm my baby goes to 154 :D soo dont woryy the baby is fine but try to quit the smoking :D

  8. 154 sounds like a good heart rate. You may not start to show as soon as others since you smoke, since the lack of oxygen to the baby decreases its size. If you are measuring small at your appointments it would be a concern. If this is your first pregnancy you will feel the baby move around 18-22 weeks.

  9. the heart rate sounds good to me....but u really need to knock the smoking habit!!!! my mother smoked while she was pregnant with me and I have a lot of medical problems as a direct result. Your baby will probably have a low birth weight, heart/lung defects, hole in the heart, water on the brain....there are just soooo many risks associated with it. But if you want to be selfish and continue to smoke then be my guest.

  10. How selfish of you to jeopardize the health of your baby by smoking even one cigarette- I hope this is not an indication of the kind of parent you will be. Maybe it will be OK with you if your child just smokes "not a lot, maybe one a day"- would that be OK with you? It's time to put the well being of your baby in front of your bad habits. If your baby is ill, you will only have yourself to blame. What poor judgment you have and what a sad environment for your baby, I am sure he or she will be thrilled to have you as it's Mom.

  11. OK WELL FIRST OF ALL you should not be smoking and yes it can hurt your baby. So itz would be best to stop smoking NOW be you hurt the baby iam not sure about the hear rate thing tho but smoking is a big nono

  12. sounds like my babies heart rate at 14 weeks... If your not smoking a lot anyway, then now might be easier to quit. I know its tough to quit smoking, but now is the best time to do it.

good luck with the smoking, the babys heart rate sounds fine
