Im 14 years old and am going into high school this fall. I live in chicago and is located near Children's Memorial Hospital and Rush Medical. I was wondering if im able to get a volunteer job during high school, and when i should work there. I also need to focus on my studies because i wanted to transfer to another school. So my questions are, where should i work? and when? and how do i manage my time when im trying to get into another school?

thank you for your help! <3333

  1. Hi -

I don't know those particular hospitals. However, be aware that even volunteers in a hospital will need to be immunized. You'll probably need proof of your MMR (Measles Mumps Rubella shot) and you may have to get a TB test.

  2. 1. Make up a schedule - mark out time for sleep, time for school and homework, time for friends. See what you have left, and work your hospital schedule around it.

    2. Figure out which hospital would be easiest to work in (schedule they can offer fits yours best, which one is easiest to get to, and so forth)

Even if you have time just for one shift of 4 hours a week, it still will make a difference.
