I'm having a big birthday party this year to celebrate my 14th. I'm seen as the party girl of my class, so it's really important to me that I live up to everyone's expectations for this party.

The party is going to be at the Hilton's Yosemite Ballroom.

I'm inviting at least 70 people, age ranges 12-15. I haven't counted exactly. I have to invite everyone in my class (ugh) so that's 36, and I have a ton of friends out of school, so that's like... 30...

I'm not positive what to do. Here are my ideas:

-Dance and listen to music. Music?

-Guitar Hero contest. Prizes?

-Between Guitar Hero contests, the a photographer will be running around and snapping photos of people dancing and having fun and the photos will be projected on the A/V system's projector screen.

-Food?

-Cake?

How long do you think a party like this would last? Without it ending too soon or it being dragged out?

Should I ask for gifts?

  1. Masquerade Party

  2. I think a masquerade party suits the venue. But something that would be really fun would be a big 80s party. Everything really bright and colourful. Then you can have contests with games like Singstar, Eyetoy, Guitar Hero, etc. I dont think prizes are needed. =D Maybe have the party go from 6pm until 10pm? I think its a bit greedy to ask for gifts from everyone, but its kinda expected from the 10 at the hotel afterwards since they are close friends. I really like the idea with the photos. You could do a red carpet leading into the venue and have peoples pictures taken when they arrive also. =D You would probably want to get caterers in to sort out the food with that many people, and go to a fancy cake shop for a really awesome cake. Have fun! =D
