  1. not many places will hire a 14 year old.

try bruster's ice cream. i work there and i think they will hire you.

  2. First make sure you have a work permit or no one can legally hire you.   Your parent or guardian has to sign for that at the bd of ed.  Then call GA dept of labor and ask if they still have any openings in the summer youth employment program.   Jobs are hard to get this summer bec a lot of adults are out of work and taking any job they can find which leaves fewer jobs for teens w/ no experience.   However you have applied 3 places. Most ppl apply at least 10 places before they get hired. Also check back with the places you did apply.

Some Dairy Queens hire at 14 not all, some skate places hire at 14 in the concession stand. A lot of eating places hire at 14 to clear tables.   Park and rec will sometimes hire 14 yr olds.  When I ran telemarketing rooms I hired 14 yr olds some probably still do so watch for the ads and call and ask.   See if there are any openings where your folks work or where your friends' folks work, ask at places you and your family shop.

Before you go out again though here are some basics that make a big difference.  Go for a conservative hair cut. It will grow back.  Remove body jewelery especially rings and studs around your face.   Be super clean.  Dress like your grandma was in charge of hiring and didn't already know and love you.   Clean chinos or at least clean jeans.   Shirt that buttons or at least a polo shirt with collar and no slogans and no holes in pants opr shirt.  Socks and shoes sport shoes in good condition  are OK for most jobs.   If you nhave tattoos cover them if possible.   Get in toch with at least 3 adults that know and like you and have some respect in the community, teachers and principlees are the usual ones but they may be hard to reach in summer so try for pastor or youth pastor, a friend's parent that has a job someone might look up to a little, someone you maybe did yard work or baby sitting for or odd jobs.  Ask if you can use them for a reference and while you are at it ask also for their tips on finding a job.  Then take a list of the name address and phone number and what they do on each of these people with you when you fill out job applications, take your social security number, who to contact in emergency, and if you have good grades and have a copy of your last report card take that.  Be prepared to answer how you are going to get to work.  All this makes you look mature, prepared and dependable.   If you have worked at all even occassional odd jobs take the name address and phone of where you worked, and who your supervisor was too.  Hope this helps.
