14 year old... needs an escort for flying on a planee??

Question

my brother is 14 years old and he's coming to visit

he is flying on northwest airlines by himself

does anyone know if u can do that

or if you have to have an escort and if so how do u do this

and how much is it

Usually they can be alone on the plane but they'll need an escort to get through the airport (which'll be provided by the staff)

On Northwest a 14 year-old is considered an unaccompanied minor and must have an escort.  There is a service fee of $75 for non-stop and $100 for connecting flights each way.

There are other airlines that will allow a 14 year-old to fly unaccompanied but Northwest isn't one of them.

just took my neighbors 14 year old daughter to Austin to fly to California with 2 plane changes and she did not have to have an escort.

i guess prices vary if you have to have one

2 or 3 years ago my brother n law paid a couple hundred dollars to have an escort for my nephew

I don't think that he needs an escort. My cousin is flying by himself, and my aunt tried to set up an escort, he was over the age limit (it was 12 and he's 14) so I don't think your brother needs an escort if the same age limit applies to that airline.
