  1. im 13 and i take adderall i usually dont take it in the summer even though i should. I should take it because it helps me concentrate and do tasks so your daughter might wanna take it for those reasons

  2. Well people with ADHD have a hard time in school, and if it really helps her, let her do it, but not as much i suppose because summer does not apply as much pressure and stress.

  3. Yes, that way her body doesn't get all confused.

  4. Many of these stimulants are also growth hormone inhibitors.  So, while the teachers enjoy the benefits of these calming medications, the parents have to spend the summers with these otherwise unredirectable children while they are on a medication holiday to catch up with their peers in growth.

    Man, that really sucks.

  5. i have to take adderall too during school. i take it very occasionally during summer because i don't need it as much. i doubt she would need it during summer either.

  6. Hi well i have adhd and i took adderal to but i changed because i hate they way it made me feel and you shouldnt make her.

  7. Yes I think she should, because if she doesn't take it during summer, then when school starts again it will mess with her because it's like she is first starting it again.

I can't reallly explain it that well,

But my little brother has the same problem, and when he doesn't have his meds in a long time when he takes them again he is all zoned out and acts all zombie like. And pretty much just stares at the wall all day.

  8. My brother has ADD, and he takes the pills anyways, because of two reasons:

    1) it helps him stay focused (for stuff like Work, Helping out around the house, ect)

and 2) because, for some reason, when he doesn't, he gets pissed off at everyone, and just starts getting angry for no reason

  9. yes, all year round.

  10. my brother is 15 and he too has ADHD. it really just depends on how bad the ADHD is and if she can handle it and not hurt people without them. otherwise she only needs to take them when you are going to see someone she needs to be calm around. summer id a time to be crazy and have fun so it won't be the same if she takes the pills every day. after my brother got to where he could control his anger problem, which came with his ADHD,even without pills, he stopped taking them in the summer. now he takes it on school days and when we visit family.

  11. I think she should stay on it so you don't break her habit of taking it and she may get sick from suddenly not having it anymore.

  12. I definitely think she should take it. The medications should stay in her system as much as possible. ADHD won't go away just because it's summer. Think about it. If you had a disease, would you stop taking your medicine just because it's summer?

  13. that should be up to you, your daughter and her doctor. If your worried about it contact the doctor who gave her the prescription.

  14. If she is going to be around other people then i would because that's the reason she takes them to focus in school and around other people. also you should ask her doctor. he will know more then me. i didn't spend 4 years in medical school. lol.

  15. yes, I have to take my meds with me whereever I go to sleepover one of my friends her nephew has adhd, he doesn't want to take his meds, if a child doesn't what to take his or her meds for adhd that person will act strange.

  16. i have ADD and  when school is on i take stuff for it. but during the summer i don't. But if you feel she need's it then yes give it to her.
