I'm turning 14 in 34 days and I want to start to work soon after. I have already gotten many job offers for 16+ jobs cause the people mistook me for that age. So, I don't look immature at all. Now, i dont wanna shovel snow, rake leaves, that kind of stuff. Where are some places that I can actually work. Like grocery stores, Mcdonalds? How many hours can I work in one week? How much pay should i expect? And anything else I should know. Thanks so much!

  1. It's going to be hard for you to get a job until you are 16. I am 16 now and still find it hard to find a shop e.c.t with space for me.

I did however earn some cash doing some babysitting for a while, so if you like kids you could find any parents needing a sitter.

Maybe a paper round? they arent the best of jobs, but its always a way to get some cash.

You could always try a smaller shop, not a massive chain store, as the smaller shops tend to hire anyone who is up for the job.

I know mc donalds dont hire anyone under 16, as my friend just got a job there, pay would be minimum wage really.

  2. If you were the innovative & imaginative sort, you wouldn't have to be asking this question.  You would of course be self-employed.

Now an enterprising lad would be doing a variety of service related work > think of the elderly that need things > you could be their delivery boy.  Maybe people need small repairs > learn how to fix things.  Or you could do computer set ups for those who don't have the time, knowledge or inclinations.  You could also tutor the younger kids.  Can you clean?  I'd hire you just for that > & OK, maybe toilets & tubs wouldn't appeal to you, but why be so picky?  A job is a job.

Start using your brain & get on the road to riches.  There is plenty of work for you to do.

  3. Umm not sure but most places require you to be 14 and 9 months. sorry and good luck :)

  4. you don't want to lie! Try working at a local tennis club as a lifeguard.

  5. It depends on where you live and what the state says you can work. Most places during summer break have 'summer youth' programs where younger teens can work during the summer.

  6. No offense, but about 99% of places require that a person is at least 16 years old.  This was introduced a few years ago.  Even 16 year olds still require a work permit in order to get a job.  If you'd want a job, most likely it'd have to be off the record, like baby sitting, or news paper delivery (although a parent would probably have to drive you around while you did that).
