  1. you shouldn't be working at that age you should be at school and as for minimum wage there isn't until you reach 16

  2. I started working at 13, but that was 13 years ago. I believe my pay for my first job was like 7 bucks an hour but I never worked over 20 hours a week. I know that I requested more but they would not schedule me over the 20. You need to check with the laws for your state. Do your parents know that this is going on? Most of the time they or a friends parents are the best resources for information like that! Good luck!

  3. Check your state webpage they usually have info posted there about Child labor laws.

During the summer you can work 40 hours yes.. During the school year you can only work part time.

You can only work the hours of 7am until 9pm during the summer and can not work during school hours of course during the school year.

    Here is some wage info:

Youth Minimum Wage: A minimum wage of not less than $4.25 an hour is permitted for employees under 20 years of age during their first 90 consecutive calendar days of employment with an employer. Employers are prohibited from taking any action to displace employees in order to hire employees at the youth minimum wage. Also prohibited are partial displacements such as reducing employees' hours, wages, or employment benefits.

    After the 90 days:

The federal minimum wage is $5.85 per hour. (I think)

Here are some numbers you can call to check on your local laws....

  4. Of course that's illegal! You can't work a full time job until you're 18, and you can't work a job at all until you're 16! I highly doubt you're doing this. I smell BS.
