How can the British have a 14 year old male diver when the minimum age for competition is 16 years old in the olympics?

  1. I don't think there is an over-arching age limit for all competitors in the Olympics. I believe the age limit is imposed by the international governing body for each sport.

  2. Thomas Daley beat all the other divers who were older than him, so he was entitled.

    Besides, There was this other diver who was 15 in the Berlin 1936 olympics

  3. The rule is "If the competitor turns 16 during this calendar year, they can compete"  He is probably 15, and will turn 16 before December 31.
