140-150 heart rate?

I had my first ultrasound yesterday and the baby's heart

rate was between 140 and 150. Is that a healthy range?

Also, we saw the baby being very active through the ultrasound

it was moving all its limbs and even opening and closing his

right hand. Doctor says that is a good sign too. I am so

excited.

  1. Yes it is in a healthy range, although considered low.  Which if you believe in the myths and wives tales that would indicate that your having a boy!  But, I would'nt start buying a bunch of blue stuff just yet.  Congrats and good luck!

  2. This is perfectly normal. Prenatal heart rates are typically between 120 -160 beats per minute. Your baby's heart rate is completely normal.

Interestingly, there was speculation as to whether fetal heart rates can accurately indicate the child's gender. This theory has been statistically disproven.

  3. Both of my BOYS had heart rates around that range and my daughter was much higher!!!:))))??????????????  Please let us know when you find out what it is!!!!!!!!!

  4. yep normal range for heartbeat

it is neat to watch baby moving .

For me it was weird because i couldn't feel any mvoement till i was past 23 weeks.

  5. Yes that is a normal heart rate :D  Congrats!

My son was usually around 130 when he was sleeping and would go up to like 170 when he was kicking around.

    Enjoy your pregnancy!

  6. That's a perfectly normal heart rate...

My kids were always hyper when they were getting their pictures taken! They'd suck their thumbs, then pull it out before we could take a pic, and all three showed off their bottoms just long enough to get a peek, but not for that pic that said "I'm a boy/girl!" It was funny and frustrating!
