14th Birthday Pool Party?

Question

I am having my 14th birthday party in a week. It is going to be a pool party at a private pool I belong to. I have nothing planned, other than I sent the invites. I am having about 30 boys and girls. All they have at the club is a pool, pavilion (we rented), and basketball court. I need some fun games, mainly that do not involve the pool. Any ideas on food? I was thinking maybe virgin pina coladas? Please help! =]

why would you have a pool party if you don't want to utilize the pool?  Marco Polo is a good pool game.  If you have a ball court I'm sure it'll get used.  As for food I would suggest a potluck (where the guests bring a dish) and virgin pina coladas, margaritas, lemonade (you can make pink lemonade with a little marachino cherry juice or grenadine)

Maybe just pizza and pop.  heck, it's your party!

hmm well do some foods for a theme if you have one. umm party isn't to hard for food. like just do some hambergers, hotdogs, fruit, chips, dip, chicken wings. fries, and ask your friends what they woud like.

games................. hmm. 14 is like a freshman. soo.. maybe some eating contests.. i'm sure you can't have drinking games lol. but idk if you're too old to be having like GAMES. like just be hanging out. um music is good. um hula-hoop contest.. umm yeah.. just have like places to chill out at like some compfy couches or chairs..  oh and a bouncer is cool still :) right? lol.

This may be a little dorky but try these ideas

# Set up lounge chairs and umbrellas near the "pool."

# Place plastic balls, water noodles, rings and other water toys around the party area.

# Cover the snack table with a blue paper tablecloth and decorate with fish stickers or, for older kids, scatter seashells and sand on top.

# Buy paper plates, plastic tableware and napkins in an underwater theme. Stock up on paper umbrellas to decorate the kids' "cocktails" and create special "surprise" ice cubes by freezing a gummy fish in the center of the cubes, or, simply tint them blue using food coloring.

# For indoor parties, string watery blue streamers and paper fish from the ceiling.

Let guests blow bubbles to create an underwater effect.

Have your kids create a "Dive Right In" banner to suspend over the snack table.

Okay also i think the pina coladas are a great idea. If you dont have the cake this is a great cake for a pool party!

Good Games:

Relay Race

Divide the group into two teams

Equipment: 2 pairs of XL board shorts, 2 pairs of sunglasses

2 Straw Hats ,2 Beach bags, 2 Beach chairs

Each team lines up in a row. Place chairs a reasonable running distance in front of each team or any distance your space will allow. The objects listed above are placed into the beach bags and located with each team. The first runners dress in ALL of the items, run to the chair, return and take all of the items off again. The next players continue until the entire team has had a turn.

Bobbing for Flip-Flops

Fill a LARGE tub with water. Before the party, use a permanent

marker to write either a 1,2,or 3 on each flip flop and place them

into the tub of water. Create 3 corresponding prize bags

(grocery bags). Write 1,2,or 3 onto the bags and fill them

with candy bars, gum or other inexpensive items.

To play

Two players at a time hold their hands behind their backs and they must use their teeth to grab a flip-flop. They then collect a prize from the bag that matches the # on the one they "caught".

since there r going to b boys, do fun games like spin the bottle, or every girl pick the boy they want to hang with the whole party, make sure u get music so u guys can dance together, food get basics, like chips, pastries, and meat
