So i bought two kicker compvr's and wanted to know what amp i should get. the rms for each sub is 500 and the max is 1000. There DVC 4 ohm's per voice coil so i can wire them to one ohm or four. One ohm will give more power but will it effect quality? Thanks any help is appreciated.

  1. i had those same subs. they are some pretty good subs. when i had them i had a 2-channel rockford 1000 on them but i ran it 2ohm stereo. 1ohm is more powerful , true enough, but it does take away the quality. one thing about those compvr's those subs have sensitive voice coils, meaning it does not need alot of distortion. that's why i ran my amp at 2ohms stereo. 4ohm mono is also pretty good.  Look at the THD(total harmonic distortion) and get the lowest possible.  if you want to run a monoblock class-d the thd rating is important. but me personally on a kicker, i would recommend either a kicker or rockford mono amp. they pretty clean , and the rockfords are 1ohm and they have a low THD. like a rockford t1001bd, they will be so perfect for those subs.
