Question:

15 month old not sleeping through the night...?

When our daughter was about 4 months old, she started sleeping through the night, without waking up in the middle of the night. My wife and I considered ourselves lucky. Recently, she has not been able to make it through the night without waking up and crying. One night, she woke up 6 times during the night. This is obviously very stressful for both parents. What can we do to help her sleep through the night?

  1. It could be a number of reasons, growth spurts, teething, seperation anxiety.

I would start doing one nap a day. It might make the difference and help her sleep through the night.

I am assuming she has a morning and an afternoon nap? Try getting her to sleep one nap around 12. I hope it helps =) Just remember that it is hard for a child her age to stay asleep all night and it might take a while, but eventually she will sleep through the night =)

  2. is she in your room?  Maybe she is having nightmares?  Does she have a night light?  or maybe something in her crib to help soother her to sleep.  I have a little musical thing in my sons crib it has fish in it and it plays music and has bubbles  and the button is so sensitive he can turn it on his self.

  3. She could be growing my son talks in his sleep and gets restless during that time or even teething again.  Just comfort her that's about all a person with children can do when you have nights like that you might even want to see about cutting her nap down to one 2 hour nap in the afternoon she should be up at least 4 hours before going to bed. GOOD LUCK

  4. I had a similar scenario with my daughter at that age and I found giving some supper about half an hour before bed time, 2 rusks with milk or a little ready brek helped to settle her. I would also start to cut out one of the daytime naps.

    Good luck :-)

  5. she could be sick or teething again...just stick to your routines and she will get back on schedule. maybe try giving her a bath and baby massage before stories each night to relax her?
