Question:

15 month old refusing food?

No matter how I dress it up, how many games I try to get her to eat she just refuses. She keeps saying "mummy" so I know she's missing her, but her parents and my parents have all gone away for 3 days, and she can't not eat for all that time.

We've tried asking her what she wants, turning it into a game, everything. She eats small bites of fruit ever now and then, and she's drinking fine, but she just will not eat. What can I try?

  1. Don't panic.

A Pediatrician once said "You may know what

your child should eat, but not how much."

As she gets hungry, she'll eat.

She may even be playing a game, hoping Mom will turn up

to feed her if she's difficult. If she gets hungry, that won't last.

The more fuss you make, the more it encourages her behavior.

  2. When my son was four years old he went for 6 months eating only PB&J.

I took him to the doctor early on...

The doctor said to let him, he'll get tried of it.

Six months was a really long time and beleive it or not he still eats PB&J every once in a while.

Make sure she's getting plenty to drink.

    Offer her what you have.

    And don't stress out.

She'll eat when she feels like it.

Just keep offering her food a snack and meal time.

    Good Luck! :)

  3. Really it may seem worrisome but it probably is not.  She will eat when she gets hungry just keep offering her the food.   Make sure of course that she isn't sick or doesn't have an ear infection but assuming those things are fine than what you are dealing with is a normal phase in toddlerhood.   She's likely just missing her momma but trust me she will not starve.  Keep giving her food and then leave her alone (as in don't press her to eat it, not leave her alone in the room or anything) and she will start to eat.
