  1. See if you can find some dry tapioca. Boil it with water till it's all jelly-like, and give it to her (you might need to add sugar). It tends to stop diarrhia.

  2. Think BRAT - Bran or Bananas (depending on where you read), Rice, Apples and Toast,  Keep her well hydrated!  But avoid sugary juice drinks and soda! These will make the issue worse!

If she isn't better in a day or so or if you notice new symptoms like fever, lethargy, rash, get her to the doctor!

  3. Sometimes when a young child has diarrhea it strips the lining of their gut and they become lactose intolerant for a short period of time.  You should definitely cut out dairy for a period of time (two weeks as a guide).  Think bland white foods for the next few days as well - potato, dry white toast, crackers and rice  These all help stop diarrhea.  Try rice milk or soy milk as a milk alternative for the next two weeks to calm her stomach, but if she hasn't improved in a day please see your doctor, especially if she becomes lethargic or shows symptoms of dehydration.  She may also need some sort of barrier cream on her bottom as diarrhea can burn and blister the skin.

  4. chicken soup
