  1. grappling

your wrestling game means nothing if the man can break your arm from bottom

no offense im sure its good and all

also your not just gunna be able to jump into elite XC

    find a good trainer around

have him line up some amateur fights for yourself when your 18

i think you can have amateur kickboxing matches if your under 18

and i know you can grapple (NAGA)

make yourself known around a little so when your 18 it only takes 3-4 fights amatuer wise before someone at WEC would take a look at your vid and go hey he won grapplers quest at 16, has kickboxing of 5-2(figurative) and is undefeated in 4 MMA matches

guy comes to see you, you 2 talk

    talk contract

    fight WEC

    good luck

i would assume you going to fight 145 if not add weight lifting to that

and remember no matter how goo your cardio is its not enough

the only man i question that to is Sherk

  2. Cross train in muay thai. It is a vicious striking style that will compliment your ground game.

  3. conditioning, conditioning  conditioning--start running.

  4. Learn to turn whatever your weakness is into a strength.

If you're not good at kicking, take up something like Muay Thai.  If you're not good at throwing, go for Judo.  If your punching is weak, learn some boxing.

Those are just some examples, but I'm sure you get the idea.

  5. Dude, you are in the same position I am. I'm 17yrs 5'10 and 170. I've been training since I was 14 and my ground game is pretty stinkin good. I've placed 3rd in my first NAGA and won at nationals my second time to compete. My hands came later. But the legal fight age is 18, but your parents can sign and you can fight younger. The biggest thing is to always train with somebody better than you. Don't get in the ring to soon, because if you get in there and get beat you might change your mind about mma and that would be tragic. I've went through the same choices that you are going to have to, and to get to the level that you are talking about getting to takes a HUGE COMMITMENT. I've made the decision, and if this is what you really want then you better really search your heart before you make the decision. The best other piece of advice is to keep a journal of your progression and what happens every time you are on the mat. But good luck, and I would love to keep in touch with you since we are so similar. so hit me up. good luck.-cody

  6. well it is nice that you have dreams and goals,  I think you should just improve on your weaknesse and joing a gym(if you haven't already) and dominate the compition.  If there are events like open tornaments in your area join and win, and repeat.

  7. Well if you want to be a good fighter one thing is to be good at everything you still have a good 4 to 5 year to learn every thing you need to know. I would start to do one of the two things one start going to a MMA school if you want to learn your own way i would say to start boxing. Also go to as many MMA tryouts and fights you can enter so you get your name out there its not as easy as people think it is to get into the WEC or even UFC. But i think you are still to young to join WEC by law i think its 19 or 20 so you have lots of time if you go workout and fight everyday you would have a better chance of getting signed to WEC. Best of luck bud

  8. learn some BJJ for your wrestling and i think muay thai is the best stand up game

  9. You've been practicing wrestling and you say you're good at it. Now I think you should focus on your stand-up and learn some submissions. There's an incredible fighter named Fedor Emelianenko who does Sambo, Judo, Boxing, and Muay Thai. He focuses especially in Sambo, and then he says Judo is good too.

I think you should start focusing on stand-ups and submissions. Just being able to hit hard isn't going to do anything. Tank Abott can hit real hard but look at his record.
