15 year old Curfew?

I'm a 15 year old girl and my mom and i last night were arguing about what time i should be home at during the summer. what time do you guys think?

It would depend on where you live. Do you live in a big city? Then I would say 10:30. If it is a small town that is considered pretty safe, then I would say 11:00 is good.

I'm 13 and my curfew in the summer is 11 alone (which i never do becuase theres rapists and freaks) & 11:30 with friends (which i usually do cause i usually travel with a pack of like 15 friends-- guys & girls so im protectteeed ahah)

I think you should stick with 10:30.  Next year you'll probably be driving, and when you first get your license it will probably be restricted by your state motor vehicle department.  If you are able to stay out late THIS year and have to come home earlier NEXT year because of the motor vehicle rule, it will feel like going backwards and you'll have a hard time getting used to it.   Once you've had your license for six months they remove a lot of the restrictions, and then you could start renegotiating your curfew with your mom.

10:30 is fine

I'm almost 17, and i'll be a senior next year, and i'm usually expected to be home by then (although its almost always hanging out with my boyfriend)

of course it depends on who im with, where i am, and if i drove myself or someone else is

when you start driving you have to be home be 11.  for the first year of your license you cant drive between 11pm and 5am

its good to practice coming home early now, so if you ever are running late, it wont be illegal

your only 15 i think that you need to be in by 8 pm 11 pm is to late for a girl your age you stay out that late your just asking for trouble the perverts come out when it gets dark and if you where my daughter you would be in by 8 no if ands or butts about it

It depends on where you live and what you are doing.  I think even 1030 is kinda late for a 15 yr old.  I think you should be happy with your 1030 curfew.

My 15 yr old son usually can stay out to 11, but really depends on what he is doing and who he is with.  If your mom just wants to be consistant, then she should set a time that is solid.  Or be flexable and you both decide a best time to get home considering what, where and who.   If you are just "hanging out"  with friends then home earlier than say if you went to a movie that started at 9 and would run you late anyway. Of course this all hinges on you being honest with her about where and who you are with.  If you aren't she could easily change that curfew to "home by 10".  Just be safe and don't break that trust.  Honestly, we mom's only need a phone call from you just checking in or we worry the whole time you are gone and don't want you to ever step out of the house.

I'm 15 as well, and the way my parents work it is that I have no curfew, instead each is time is on an individual basis. So for example, I need to be home from the mall by 10, so they no I'm not hanging around after it closes, but movies I can be home as late as midnight, depending on when the movie started. If you're out every night though, the individual thing might not work. I think 11 is a legitimate time, but maybe you could compromise? Say if you're out with friends your mom knows and trusts 11 is fine, but say if you're being driven home by someone she doesn't really know, then curfew is 10:30, because it makes her feel more cofortable. It porbably also depends on what you're doing next week. One last suggestion is if you start at 10:30 and you're home on time for a week, it gets pushed back 15 minutes, but if you come home late the curfew can get pushed forwards again. Hope I helped!

Well, it's only a half an hour difference, but i know that could make all tha differnce! lol I would say, 11, isn't too bad, but not a second later!! just let her know that tha half an hour wouldn't hurt, as long as she knows where u are, and has ways to contact u... Especially for summer, it's good.

But if she says 10:30 still, u may just have to go out a lil earlier babe! and make tha most of ur time until tomorrow. I can understand tha concern, nightime is a dangerous time for teens, and actually anyone, there are more likely to be alchoholics driving, and kidnappers, and rapists, so if she is insisting on this, please just be happy that someone cares about u so much. There's always another day.

I think it is hard for you to understand that even at 15 your mother needs to make the rules. and as evil as it may be to you , 1030pm is not that bad.

maybe the two of you could comprimise.  1030 some nights and 11pm other nights.  maybe tell her that you want to show her that you can be responsible...

I'm going to be a senior next year, and my curfew now is around 12:30 more or less because after that time it's illegal for me to be driving since I'm not 18 yet. However, when i was your age 10:30-11:00 is when i was in most of the time. Just go with what you got and as you get older your allowed to stay out later. Then when you're older you get to laugh about how early you had to be in when you were a freshman/sophomore.
