I am going to the board wide track and feild meet for my school. I am the returning champoin of the 1500 and 800 meter races, but it has always been a close race. I also finished 2nd in the 200 meter last year. I need training tips for the 1500 and 800 meter, those 2 are the most important, then 200 meter tips would be nice also ty very much

  1. Well I won the 800 and 1600 my district meet with a 1:55 and 4:25 by running a genius race. I ran the first lap fast(:56). Then just tricked the leader into thinking he was running slower then he really was. When the last 100 came he had nothing left. The 1600 race was more complex. I decided to take out less aggressive and just put down negative splits. (1:10, 1:08, 1:06, 1:01) The last lap was difficult strategy wise because I was racing against a state runner up in the 2 mile. He had more aerobic capacity then I did so the only way I could win was to build a lead on him so much that he thinks he's not gonna win. On the last lap I just went balls to the wall for a 200 and built a gap. My last 200 was kinda slow but the other guy didn't try to catch me because he didn't think he could beat me. In reality if he knew what I was doing he would of had me. I can't really give you training advice because I use the PAAVO program and it's complex you have to do it for a long period of time you can't just jump into it. But, I hoped the race advice helped!!

  2. For the two hundred the tips are simple...its a full out sprint the entire way...the 800 it really depends on your strategy...i would sugest though not to lead the first lap but keep very little distance from you and her/him
