I have the repair manual, and I have checked all the wires, but still not working, also the auto turn-off for signals is not working. What else can I check?

  1. Those bikes have a sophisticated electrical system, especially the later models.  If you have a Honda Factory Manual there should be trouble shooting procedures for the speedometer as well as the turn indicators.  Chances are that when the speedometer does not work then the odometer does not work.  If the odometer does not work then self canceling function on the turn indicators does not work.  So you are back to the speedometer.  Look in the manual for speedometer trouble shooting.

One thing to check is if the speedometer cable turns when the front wheel is spinning.  Prop up the bike so the front wheel is off the ground.  Remove the speedometer cable from the back of the speedometer.  Spin the front wheel like the bike is rolling forward.  While the front wheel is spinning the inner part of the speedometer cable should be turning.  If not then the problem is either the inner cable or the drive unit on the front wheel.  Remove the speedometer cable from the front wheel drive unit.  The inner cable can be removable for inspection, cleaning and lubricating or replacement.  Have some rags and disposable gloves handy for this part, it's messy.  The inner cable should be in one piece and have no sharp bends or kinks.  If that is not the problem, use the shop manual instructions for removing and checking the speedometer drive unit on the front wheel.

If both the drive unit and the cable are working then it is the speedometer.  Take it out the fairing and find a speedomter/instrument repair shop in the phone directory.  Most speedo shops will repair motorcycle speedometers.

  2. check the sending unit on the front wheel, located on left side

(usually)   maybe a little cleaning  would do it...
