1500m training? need help?

Ok I am in grade 7 and my track and field day is soon. I need some help my 1500m race might be this week or next I need help. I just ran about 7 km in total on the weekend last week but I need my speed faster. I have gone to the CC championship and at taht time I could run 8km without stopping now im about down to 3 km. I need help for speed training taht will be effective in 3-7 days. I am in pretty good shape and can go through hard training. If this helps boy, 5'7, 13, 127 lbs. Please help?

  1. I'm on my high school track team, i ran distance and spritning. For speed in the distance group, we work on track workouts.

    All you need is a track

    Here's a sample one:

    warm up 2 laps

    stretch well (5 to 10 min)

    run 7 800s (2 laps=800meters) in 8 minute intervals. that is, start your watch wehn you start to run, once you finish two laps keep timing and don't start running again until the 8 minutes are over. For example, say that you run the 800 in 3:30 minutes, then you rest for 4:30 minutes and then start the next 800.

    These are called "interval running" and should really help you with your speed. The key is to keep the same speed through out the workout.

    After the intervals jog two laps slowly to col down, stretch again.
