I have been having positive OPKs (two dark lines or test line darker than control line) since my ovulation and until now a day after period is due. Now I am 15 dpo (ovulation had already been confirmed at around cycle day 14-15 by ovulation kits (3 brands). Now my period was due yesterday and checked again with OPK and still dark positive, but negative HPT (2 different brands). really dont know what it is. Scheduled appt. with doc but only they have appt. only next month. Did anyone have positive OPK when their period was due and after, but STILL neg. HPT??

  1. a blood test will determine if you are pregnant or not. alot of HPT are negative good luck!

  2. Well, get a blood test definitely. Goto any walk-in clinic to get tested (don't need to see your family doctor).

If pregnant, there should be sufficient HcG to have positive HPT at 14dpo (did you get the early HPT that work at 10dpo and can detect hcG level as low as 25?).

It is certainly possible that ovulation and implantation happened much later than you might have thought.

    Good luck.

  3. you should get a blood test to be sure if you're pregnant or not, you can also get adivce online for free from doctors, try fertilityties.com

    good luck!!

  4. OPKs are made to detect the LH (lutenizing hormone) and therefore aint very good at detecting ovulation since are bodies can actually make the LH for OPKs to detect it but our bodies dont release an egg, therefore if you are not charting your BBT you cannot be sure you have ovulated for a fact.
