my party will be on July 26, two days after my bday. I want it to be a beach theme. But I don't want to get too carried away. And I don't want to be like the person who was a loner the whole month, while everybody was up at their cottages, by making all this happen. I also have a family sized inflatable pool and my backyard isn't too big so yea. Here are my ideas but i only want to spend a maximum of $150:

-use carpet construction rolls and green construction paper to make palm trees

-making my own garlands

-maybe a pinata (i like it, but concerned about the money and should i do it with 15 year olds?) Could this also replace the goody bags idea?

- i don't want any games (too organized)

-food:ice cream, hamburgers, chips, salad, drinks, corn (for a vegetarian and other peeps?) should i have more food? also i will have a beach theme ice cream cake.

-Approximately 13 peeps w/ me.

that's all so far. i bought all my cutlery and stuff and that cost me $. i need cheap invite idea

  1. Is it a beach theme or a Hawaiian Luau theme?  If it's just a beach theme, you don't need leis/garlands.  My parents were going to Hawaii a few weeks after my mom's birthday, so I threw her a tropical party.  The cake looked like a beach. I used cinnamon for the sand, and had blue buttercream frosting that looked like waves.  I used sour candy strips to make beach towels, and put little umbrellas over them.

I also went to Party America and Grand Events, and bought tropical decorations.  It wasn't took expensive.  I bought flip flop confetti (good size too, about 2 in. each) and put it on the tables, the cups and plates were neon colors (so it looked more tropical and fun),  all the bowls holding the food were also neon colors (which you could easily buy at the dollar store), and I also had these decorations that you hang on anything and they swirl down.  They're cute and cheap (about $3.5) and they're literally called swirl decoration.

Hamburgers, chips, salad, fruit bowl, and ice cream is plenty.

  2. I’d say all you need is people and acohol, it would also be cheap because you could say bring your own alcohol and you only have to supply food, music and your own alcohol.

If your parents wouldn’t go for that  ask your friends what they would like, after all they will be the ones attending.

  3. ~either email the invites or just make them on microsoft publisher if you have it.

~have a big table and put a main centerpiece on it and shells (plus maybe sand) all over

(my friend had a beach themed 14th bday party and as her centerpiece she bought a couple of $2 goldfish and put them in a vase with colorful rocks at the bottom- it was sooo cute!)

~for drinks i suggest getting sprite and blue gatorade- get cute plastic cups and mix the two (creating a super yummy bubbly blue drink)

get little umbrellas for the cups :)

~pasta salad and fruit salad would be good 'summery' (and vegetarian) additions

    ~ditch the corn

~if you have a costco near by, they are carrying these things called island sorbets, they are single portions of assorted sorbets, and they are sooo cool because they are in thier own shells- for ex. the pineapple sorbet is in a pineapple bowl (the bottom of a real pineapple), the lemon sorbet is in half of a real lemon

(ps. i am having my 15th bday party on the 10th, and i am having those for dessert:P)

~get those like flower necklaces that you can find at a party america

~i think im out of ideas :P

    good luck!
