I'm 16 and i would like to have my bedtime extended (currently 10pm), not by that much, realistically 11.00-11.30. But i'm not sure how to ask my dad, i don't want to seem rude but i also want to get the answer that i am looking for!

Any advice?

  1. Jesus, I stopped having a bedtime at like 14!! And even that wasn't a set time, I was just told when to go to bed!! You really shouldn't be having a bed time at the age of 16.. I didn't anyway.

  2. At 16 you shouldn't have a bed time.  Tell your parents that.

  3. 10pm!!! on weekends to? i can understand during the week (not in the holidays though) because you need sleep for school, though are you allowed to watch TV in your room after 10pm? i was allowed to stay up as late as i wanted at 16 though i did have to be in my room at 12am ish on school nights. why not just ask him for an 11:30pm bedtime just on weekends for now? then later ask for 11pm during the week. or at least be able to do what you want in your room till at least 11pm

  4. Go to sleep earlier, wake up earlier.

  5. ask him like an adult and he will treat you like an adult

    come and go- negotiate

  6. Just sit down and ask him politely and responsibly.

  7. Just tell him you'd like more time to read, do your stuff.  Say you won't go out of the house.  And this is a very low thing to say, but there always is the flashlight you can read with.

  8. LOL 10 o clock! you should be able to stay up late as you want

  9. i have a 16 year old nephew and he does not have a bedtime a curfew yes but even that is negotiable because you are growing up you need a chance to make decisions for yourself so in the morning when he is tired he still has to get up and go to school i dont say i told you so or anything like that i just watch the early morning struggle and after school he has to do chores and homework before he goes outside it actually works out fine because he is so tired by 11 or 11:30

  10. Oh, you're so sweet. I hope my children grow up to be like you. 10:00 is too late already. Go to bed when he tells you.

  11. Just talk to him.  Tell him you are a good kid and stay out of trouble and you have good grades (if you are not a good student then you do not need to be staying up later) and you would like to have a later bedtime.  If he thinks about it but looks like he might say no, ask to try it out for a while and see how it goes.

  12. im 16 and i dont have a bedtime.... hello youre 16 why the **** is your bedtime 10!!!!!!!!!!

  13. tell him ur 16 and two years u'll be 18 ... so he should consider extending  ur bedtime  to 11:30.....so u can study some more like overachiever  should do.

  14. i can't believe you still have a bedtime i just turned 17 and i go to bed whenever, usually about, 12:00
