  1. I'd keep in touch with the doctor! Or get a second opinion. 9 days is a long time for the babies temp to be that high. I watch way too much Mystery Diagnosis to be saying much else! I don't want to scare you!

  2. Yea the time this happened to me my daughters temp was 104...after visiting and calling the dr several times I got aggitated, took her to another dr where they ordered x-rays.  She had pneumonia.

  3. Viral infections when treated with medication that relieves symptoms last about 14 days.

Those that are untreated last about two weeks.

Seriously, he is clearly improving - just not at the rate you would like.

I know its scarey when little one is sick.  And we always feel so guilty.

  4. 99-100 is not that high especially for a baby. You really have to watch how quickly it goes up. If it's just hanging around 99-100 and they are drinking. and peeing i really wouldn't worry too much.

  5. My 14 month old had a temp of 99-100 for over 2 weeks, which is not considered a fever in children their age.  I was paranoid about an ear infection, so I brought him to the pediatrician.  His ears were clear, but his gums were swollen.  It's molar time!

The bottom right molar has since popped through, and temp has returned to normal.  I'm not looking forward to the other three.

My pediatrician recommended homeopathic teething tablets by Hyland.  You can also give tylenol.  I've heard that letting them chew on a frozen wet washcloth helps relieve some of the pain too.

    Good luck.

  6. some times if you're babay was just born, when they come in to the weird, they can get a small virus. like my kid had one, and it lasted 15 days!! we went to the doctor and they said it'd go away in 15 days...and it did. don't worry
