16 year old's Car insurance?

I'm and I have my permit. I turn 16 in may. Im going to get my license (or atleast take the test ) on my 16th birthday. Im not going to buy a car, and im going to just drive my parents cars. What I don't understand is why I have to pay for car insurance, since my parents already insure the car. And the car is ensured for any driver of the car.

Any (occasional) driver. You live in the home you will be considered more than an occasional driver. Your age is high risk and insurance companies don't take risks.  Your part of the insurance will be a lot.

Your age will cause their insurance to increase dramatically.  Check to see if the insurance company offer defensive driving classes and student discounts.  That might help with your cost.
