I'm going to turn 16 on sept. 20th and I live in Pa. Does anyone know if I can get my permit now and if there are any restrictions on the bikes I can drive? Any other info such as insurance rates and other stuff would be helpful, all for Pa. though. Thanks

  1. In Iowa you can get your Motorcycle permit at 14 with a succesful completion of a two day saftey course,  your intermediate liscense at 16 and full at 17. Isurance on anything new or fast will be fairly expensive. Check how much insurance will be before you even buy the bike.

  2. well first thing take ur local msf course.  ur insurance is gonna be through the roof though, so u might wanna get ur dad to get it for u.

  3. I know in Alabama you can get your Motorcycle license at 15 rather than the automobile one at 16, so I would imagine it might be the same there.  There is a restriction to the CC of the bike, but I am not quite sure of the exact number.

  4. you can get ur permit at 16, you can't drive at night you cant have passengers and you cant drive in bad weather, insurance will be very cheap and since ur probably going to get a cheap bike ( because u don't want to be droping and dinging up a brand new one) it should be somthing like 100 a year of it is for me anyway my bike cost 500 bucks but ur health insurance might go up now and when you get ur licence make sure ur a organ doner u want be needing them any more
