  1. I'm going to say this went to Potomac Job corps in DC. I never had a real problem their because unlike some job corps they have their s**t in line. I was a culinary arts student so basically i cooked my own food, as far as the zero tolerance rule i was subjected to it. Imma say this though Trevor my dude for you to make a comment saying that the staff members will hate you if your white and brought up christian shows you own racial flaws homie. Thats like me sayin rednecks hate me because im black & was brought up christian, and i do have alot of family members are staff members in Pittsburgh job corps . Really man i think you need to tone yaself  down abit  gettin too ahead of  yaself kid as you said you an aristocrat so your a pampered little b***h thats what i see. Of course you did bring up some good points even though i had to read through you bitching about your choice to enroll in job corps. I wont knock their methods their there to help as long as your willing to help yaself. but yes Trevor im targeting your little racist a*s dogg matter of fact homie i dont want to even see u in my city when i come home doggie

  2. is it that bad there

  3. Yo, this is Trevor Campbell out of the Pittsburgh Job Corps Centre. I came in at February, 2010 and am a college student, hoping to just avoid the 472,482,850 issues (approx.) I have with staff members, never mind students. I have to say that there are many things to say about this program. Most of Job Corps is very ethnocentric, as they believe in one thing for one group of people, all for one specific race, religion, & values (If you're Caucasian, Christian, and traditionally brought up, those staff members will hate you & haunt you, or at least let you feel this way, like I feel myself). In addition, if your parents loved you or if you're heavily high-maintenence with another focus, Job Corps is totally not of value to you. I'm like an aristocrat compared to some of those moochers, and I can outwit a lot of their staff members, which, I believe I'm smarter than most of them anyways. I could do my OCT supervisor's job better. Here's the problems with Job Corps, given experience from my center:

    - The Zero Tolerance Policy is complete Anarchy. All you need to do is be a student of a leadership/advanced program, survive the program until you are just about three months, or just suck-up and believe the words of any staff member (whether it's beneficial or not), and you'll be safe, nearly immuned from CSIO or HR investigations if another student accuses of a wrong doing.

    - The dorms are very disenchanting & dangerous. Your dorms are likely to be filled with dirt, trash, bugs, and rats, which is a health hazard for most, but you must work around to make it tolerable for you. Their food is literally meant to make to hurt you and make you sick, it's literally that toxic. You'll be dealing with staff and students who are on the same mind-set or intelligence and moral views/common sense level. No matter how dangerous a staff member or student can turn out to be in Job Corps, if that person has power, we go back to the Zero Tlerance Anarchy policy, they'll be spared. Just be glad if you're the one spared.

    - Every single benefit is flawed, in either they're literally worthless or they'll prevent you from getting a good job. If you go to an employer saying "Job Corps fed me, housed me, educated me, etc" then I would want that employer to ask you what you did for yourself without these Job Corps people. If you can't answer that question better, then you would lose the job, logically. Since your education is no better than high school level education (after recieving a HSD or GED, with a shop certificate) you'll be using that to compete with against other competitors, who may have advanced training. All Advanced training (ACT, OCT) is post-secondary education. I pay majority of my meals off-center, my own cell phone, and recently, new medical insurance, and will eventually hope to pay for my own bus pass and all of my meals, as I don't need Job Corps for much use.
