17 turning 18 (sydney/ australia)?

im from sydney and i was wondering if they allow u to hold parties in the casino during the night when ur still 17 but ul be 18 when the clock strikes 12pm?

or something like that?

You must be at least 18 years of age and 1 day past your birthday to be deemed legal for drinking, gambling and smoking.

So in other words, you can't do 18+ activities on your 18th birthday legally. A friend of mine was caught and fined $800 for drinking at the pub on his 18th birthday and he was told that only after his birthday that he could drink.
