17 will i get a rebate check?

I made over $3000 last year, and my parents told me that i no longer qualify as a dependent under them. So should i be getting a check? Or do i need to some how notify someone that i am a independent now.

  2. did you do your taxes? you should if you filed a tax return......because everyone I know has already gotten theirs including me....they also should have sent you a notification a couple months back saying that you will get one, for how much, and when it would arrive

  3. If doesn't matter if you are "independent" or what now.  It matters if your parents claimed you on their 2007 taxes.  If they did, you will NOT get a stimulus check.  Period.

  4. u would need to file ur income tax! to get ur stimulis payment of 300.  u can go to hr block it won't cost 2 much b/c u would only be filing for ur stimlus payment or u can do itur self its super easy if u know how to use the computer. go to the irs web page irs.gov and u will see file ur taxes free and it will take u through it step by step!  good luck

  5. You notify the IRS that you are not a dependent by filing an income tax return and claiming your own personal exemption.  If you made $3000 last year, claimed your personal exemption and your parents did not claim you as a dependent, then you will receive a rebate check.
