i'm not 17 yet, but i will be when i see this guy next. i met him over the summer and we hung out every day and became really good friends. towards the last 2 weeks of summer we started hooking up a little bit. but it wasn't anything serious obviously.

i've never liked a guy more than i like him :/

so it that an okay age difference??

i think its fine..guys are a little slow when it comes to relationships so he seems to be the perfect age..just make sure you dont let him pressure you into anything you dont want to do.

I've dated older when I was your age. Simply put, it's usually not worth it in the end. You don't sound like you are "mature for your age", to be quite honest. Otherwise you wouldn't be relying on the answers of strangers online. Most girls aren't confident/experienced enough to handle an older guy without getting used. Y'all are probably in different places at your life, I doubt anything serious will work out. If it's legal in your area, and you can be smart about it--go for it. Don't be a doormat, though, and get out of the relationship at the first sign of trouble. Also, don't be selfish and try to hold onto the relationship if you know it's holding him back. Personally, I think y'all are wasting each other's time.

It's borderline in my opinion, but if your parents approve and you're particularly mature for your age I think it's acceptable.  Just know that his priorities in life are a little different than yours at this point.

When I was 17 my mom let me date a 22 year old guy. In hindsight, not the greatest idea for me....but each case will be different.

yea. i mean think about it. if you were 20 he would be 24  not a big deal. its just that right now it sounds a bit wierd because ur still in ur teens. but i mean ur at the legal age of concensus so he cant go to jail for statuatory rape now. but if you were sixteen still... his would be in jail faster than you can say pedophile.

I turnt 17 in may and my boyfriend will be 21 in november. I dont see the problem with age gaps but some people do. If you happy just ignore them :)

personally I think the age difference is perfect... women tend to mature atleast 4 years faster then guys... so you should be at the same level

its not illegal if you consent. Also its not that big of an age gap, when you get older lets say 22 that age gap will seem like nothing as guys take longer to mature :P
