hello, I'm having big problems of my insomnia, because now i only sleep for like 4 hours now, last year was 7 hours, and last 2 years 12 hours at least. I try all the best I can do to fall as sleep but nothing works, sometimes I've gone too far that i tried sleeping in the bathroom and outside our house. Now i look like a creep cause I'm really thin, and my eye bag is really black. I really want to sleep normally like I use to, cause i'm only 17 and i still want to grow. Anyone go through this but eventually found a way to cure it? Thanks!

  1. Talk to your doctor about a sleeping pill. Have you tried any over-the-counter sleep aids? They are non-addictive. If you need to have one prescribed by the doctor there are ones which are non-habit forming.

But if you haven't tried any at all, I recommend you ask your doctor first.

  3. Anxiety and stress are the most common causes of insomnia. But sleeplessness can also be caused by variety of medical conditions. You can ask for doctors about possible treatments.

    > Avoid drinking alcohol in evening {if you are}.

    >Don't smoke. Nicotine is a stimulant that can keep you awake.

    >Reduce your intake of caffeine. If you suspect caffeine is contributing to your sleeplessness, don't use any caffeinated products for at least 12 hours befor going to bed.

    > Avoid large meals just before going to bed. Try a light snack instead.

    >Take a warm bath or a spa an hour or two before bedtime. It can soothe tense muscles and help you make sleepy.

    >Get regular physical activity.

    > Your bedroom should be quiet and dark.

    > A cool room temperature - betw. 15.5 deg. cels and 18.3 deg. cels - is best fo sleeping.

    > Avoid long late-afternoon naps.

    > Read in bed for a few minutes.

    >Counting sheep iisn't recommended. It requires the brain to focus on a specific activity. Use imagination - picturing yourself in a pleasant place as you then drift off to sleep.

    >Be aware of your medications that may affect your sleeping pattern.

***It may take a few weeks to adjust into a new, natural sleeping routine. If you are unable to make progress after trying the above steps, consult your doctor. :)

    Hope that helps!
