17 yo traveling to Mexico?

17 yo wants to go to MX for 3 weeks and stay with the family that he hosted for this school year. It is in Montery. Have not heard too many positive things about him being a minor and traveling to MX even though he will be with a family. Any thoughts or opinions on this

monterrey is the second biggest city in mexico, so, there's a lot to see, he should take advantage of the oportunity to know a different culture, go for it, specialy if he has a place with people that will look after him.

Monterrey is a big city, and the richest in México.

Monterrey is beautiful and he should take every advantage. Nothing is going to happen to him because he's a minor as long as he doesn't go out by himself looking for trouble. If he is with other people at familiar places he will be fine. I travel to Mexico about twice a month (nothing fancy just Mexico) and as long as you keep aware of your surroundings, everything should be fin.
