I saw the ad in the browser. It says motor sound, new water pump, new tires, has fuel pump problems asking $1,000 o.b.o. My questions are: Is a 1995 nissan altima a good car? how much would it cost to get the fuel pump problems fixed?

  1. dats really old. but iguess it would run fine since its a nissan. if u come across something like a sentra or civic den thats better cause an altima mite be too powerful for a new driver

  2. The car is already 13 years old.A new fuel pump or a re-conditioned one will cost plenty. But your best advice would be to ask a car mechanic.I don't know about prices where you live? There's the cost of the pump plus labor. The altima is a good car,but I don't think this car is.

  3. I just got the fuel pump and gas tank replaced on my pickup and it roughly spent around $1200 to fix both all together . the 1995 altima is a great first car. nissans are very reliable

  4. Nissans are excellent and I have one too but mine is three years old. Take it to a good mechanic for a diognostic check. At any rate, make you get a Japanese car since they are the best.

  5. What scares me is not being able to drive the car to see if the transmision and steering are ok too. Fuel pump replacement at the dealership with less than 1/2 tank of fuel sould cost 3 to 4 hundred. Solving any other drivability problems extra. Water Pump? did the car over heat? New tires is there an alignment problem? Motor sound I sure hope the motor makes sound? Any way running properly a 1995 Altima is a good first car as long as she likes it.
