Defending Champions Chicago Blackhawks wins comfortably 3-0 against the Nashville Predators
The Nashville Predators hosted the defending champions Chicago Blackhawks at the Bridgestone Arena this Thursday. The game was very important for both sides as they look to make it into the play-offs that are right around the corner. A win for either of
the team would have put them in the play-off cut.
This was to be the Hawks night as they came up with a decent performance scoring in the first and final periods to win the game 3-0 in the end. Though the Predators had scoring chances but they weren’t able to score. Corey Crawford, goal keeper was named
the player of the game with his shut out performance that saw him making 31 saves during the game.
The Predators was the stronger of the two teams in the opening period as they created several chances early on displayed some excellent passing and shooting abilities. However, the Crawford was up to the mark as he came up with saves every now and then.
However, the Hawks also settled down after a few shaky first minutes. The away side started to come up with strong pieces of play that often saw them in scoring positions. However, like their opposition the Hawks weren’t able to find the back of the net.
Both teams kept on coming up with shots and finally the deadlock was broken.
The goal was scored by Tomas Kopecky from a quick fired shot in the 18th minute to put the Hawks in the lead. The period ended with a few more goal attempts but no further goals were scored. The period ended with the Hawks leading 1-0 as they
made seven goal attempts in the period while the Predators made 10 goal attempts.
The second period was pretty much even too with both teams making shots on goal every now and then but none found the back of the net.
This remained the case throughout the period despite some strong plays and attacks constructed by both teams. The period ended with the Hawks still leading 1-0. During this period Hawks made 10 goal attempts while the Predators made 9 goal attempts.
The final period continued on the same roads as the previous two periods as shots were fired on goal right from the start of the proceedings.
Marian Hossa scored early in the period in the third minute to double the Hawks lead. The shots and plays continued till the very end of the period. Though it took some time but the next and final goal of the game was scored in the final period by Patrick
Sharp in favour of the Hawks.
The period ended with the Hawks making 8 goal attempts while the Predators made 12 goal attempts. In the end, the Hawks won the game 3-0.
