Question:

17th Birthday Party ideas??

My friend is having her 17th birthday on Saturday. Her usual thing is a sleepover with like 6 girls, but many of them are backing out. I feel bad about it and when want to make up for it. I was thinking shopping, but she is low on cash, what else would be fun? And I would be willing to pay for it, as long as it's not pricey. [something like, a movie, concert, well not a concert but you get the idea!] anything creative and appropriate is appreciated! Thank you!

  4. Dressing up and going to a semi nice dinner is always fun. Or you can check out local newspapers and see if there are any festivals, theatres shows, or free music concerts too.

  5. That's really sweet of you to want to do something special for your friend being her other friends are backing out on her.

Is there a Dave and Buster's near you? You can take her there.  Or even a Rainforest Cafe.

Is there somewhere she's been wanting to go, or a show she's been wanting to see.  Now's the time to surprise her and take her!

What about any fairs or carnivals in your town, is there anything going on that you can take her too, parades, street fairs, carnivals?

Maybe an amusement park or waterpark?

What about taking her to a park and having a picnic?  You can pack some deli sandwiches or pizza, whatever is her favorite and that you're not eating that night, and some drinks and dessert, you can make cupcakes (you can make the ones that are baked in the ice cream cones and decorate them in icing and sprinkles, etc), and bring a frisbee and hang out in the park and make an afternoon of it.  I'm sure by the time her sleepover comes, she won't even care about those that aren't going to be coming!  She'll have so much fun with you hanging out.  You could invite the other girls that are coming or just leave it the two of you, bring some blankets, get something to carry the lunch in, see if someone has a cooler, and pack some food and snacks in, favorite chips and things and plenty of drinks on ice, and bring some games.  Frisbee, a ball, and make sure to bring a camera.  I'm sure just hanging out there with her friends will be fun!  You can bring bubbles and a bubble machine, hang out on the swing set if there is one, bring some music, etc.

You can also take her to get her nails done or the two of you go out and get manicures and pedicures and then take her out for ice cream.  Make an appointment for both of you and spend the afternoon getting pampered so she's ready for her party!

You can take her out bowling, or for miniature golf, go karting, batting cages, do you have a place near you that has a gym where you can do rock climbing? You can do something like that if she's into sports.

You can take her out to lunch, sometimes the simple things really mean a lot, and going out to lunch with her friends can be fun for her.  It would get her mind off the people that aren't there and you can take her somewhere that she's always wanted to go, or take her out for a Happy Meal!

Is there something she's always wanted to do or try that you can take her to?  Like rollerblading or a cooking class or pottery class?  You can do that with and she'll have fun doing the thing she has wanted to do and it will be so much more fun because she's doing it with a friend!

I hope some of these ideas help and that your friend has a great party and a very Happy Birthday!
