17th b-day in two weeks. I need help throwing it ASAP!!!?

Okay so I am turning seventeen years old in a couple weeks and I really really really need help with what to do because I don't know how to run parties at all. I'm a total dork, hehe :]. Anyway, there is only going to be about ten people max over and I don't want them to get bored since the only place I can have a party is in my tiny house and when I say tiny, I honestly mean small! So my best friend helped me make the invitations and she almost seemed like she was trying to control how the invitations would look so I am nervous that she will try to tell me how to run my party if I ask her for help. So I need your guys' help. I have the basics down. Music, a lot of food, some games. But I don't know what kind of games and what else we could do since it's going to be in such a small place..so I really need your guys's help like asap since I'm planning it already. Do you have a nice backyard where you can do outdoors games like volleyball or something like that.

You&#039;re NOT a dork!  That&#039;s the first thing! There are lots of things that you can still do at home and have fun!

First, you can set up an ice cream bar for you and your friends, no matter what you decide to do during the party, at some time during it, you can set up chocolate, vanilla, and strawberry ice cream and if there&#039;s another flavor you really like.  Go to the dollar store and get those tall plastic sundae glasses and get some toppings like sprinkles, chocolate syrup, caramel sauce, whipped cream, some cherries, and have your friends make their own sundaes.

You can also do an around the world dinner buffet.  You can have pizza from Italy and decorate that little area in an Italian theme like a little red, white, and green flag, etc. Then have tacos and nachos from Mexico and decorate in a Mexican theme, do little hamburgers and franks and blankets from America and decorate in an American theme and so on.  

You can also just do a taco bar and get all the toppings and fixings that you like.  

You can have a dinner party.  Dress up the table in a nice cloth tablecloth, cloth napkins, name plates where everyone will sit, etc. and set the table formally.  Ask your mom to help you and you can either cook the dinner with you mom from appetizers to desserts or order out and have a sit down dinner party with your friends, a real grown up dinner party.

If you and your friends like to cook, you can make you own pizzas or find something that you can cook and make it with them and then sit down and have dinner with them.

You can do a movie night with them.  Tell them to bring their pillows and blankets to lounge on the floor, get some popcorn and go to the dollar store and get those cardboard popcorn holders so each person has their own, then get big boxes of movie candy, movie time comes and each person has their popcorn and you can pass around the candy.  You can also put some lights leading up the path to your house, and a red fabric or carpet so it looks like they&#039;re entering the red carpet.  The lights can be clear stringed Christmas lights.  Then you can get white or black foam board, decorate and paint it with your name and birthday, and put some more clear lights around it and hang it up, it will be announcing your birthday with your name in lights!

You can do a spa day with them. If you have an older sister or cousin or even your mom, you can ask them if they&#039;ll willing to pamper you and your friends.   Then, they can do you and your friends hair, make-up, nails, and pedicures, and have a beauty night, send out for pizza or do the taco bar or something and then an ice cream bar or have your cake, etc.

Get lots of chips and snack foods, I have a niece that&#039;s 17 and the one big thing seems to be music, movies, and lots of snack food and text messaging.

You can do a text messaging contest.  If you all have it on your phones, test each other and see who is the quickest, and whoever is gets the prize!

You can also do a game of who knows the birthday girl the best, and write down 17 questions since that&#039;s what b&#039;day this is and have your answers written down already so no one can accuse you of changing them, and ask your friends some questions about you, whoever gets the most right wins!

Some ideas of questions can be:

Favorite food?

Favorite song?

Favorite movie?

First crush?

What do you want to do as a career?

What college do you want to attend if any?

If you could live anywhere, where would it be?

Favorite actress?

Celebrity crush?

Favorite tv show?

Most hated food?

Least favorite subject in school?

Questions like these and whoever gets the most right, wins!

I hope some of these ideas help and that it gives you back control, when you&#039;re friend says she has ideas for your party, hear her out and tell her you have your own and see which ones you want to do, and then tell her which ones you&#039;re going to, you can take some of her ideas and some of your own, and tell her you&#039;re going to do some of both. Hopefully that will keep her from being hurt.
